Video: Cops save passenger after she falls from moving train at Kanpur station

Two Railway police officials saved the life of a woman who fell off a moving train while calling her children who were left behind at Kanpur Central Railway Station.
According to Government Railway Police (GRP) officials, the incident happened on Saturday, November 23, when the woman was travelling from Kanpur to Delhi. She boarded the Shram Shakti Express, but her children were left behind. When the train started moving, she called her children while leaning outside the door of the coach.
The woman suddenly lost balance, fell from the coach into the gap between the train and the platform and got dragged by the moving train. She was then immediately rescued by GRP Sub-Inspector Shiv Sagar Shukla and Constable Anoop Kumar Prajapati.

An 11-second video of the incident showed the two cops saving the woman as soon as she fell off the train. The GRP personnel caught her within seconds of her falling.
Speaking about the incident, SI Shukla said, “Three women and a child were travelling with the woman on the train to Delhi. During the journey, the woman’s child got left behind on the platform as the train began to move. The woman started screaming. This caught my attention, and I noticed that she was standing at the door of the moving train. I realized she might jump off, so I tried to talk to her. However, she suddenly jumped from the train compartment onto the platform.
“As the train was in motion, she started slipping into the gap between the train and the platform. At that moment, I quickly grabbed her, and my fellow officers pulled her out. During the rescue, we ran alongside the moving train…,” Shukla added.
